Staring into the face of uncertainty, not knowing what the next step is, wondering what that touch on your arm is going to bring, wishing you could open your eyes to look into the faces of the voices leaning over speaking to you.
Watching someone lay and fight for the breath that will keep them alive, wondering what you can do to help them is almost a helpless feeling as the one fighting to regain what they once had.
Hospice nurses in and out of the house, handing out suggestions and providing everything they can to help make the process move along with as much comfort as possible, no comfort ever comes for the loved ones nor the patient in my opinion, regardless of all the fantastic people who are reaching out attempting to help.
Now is the time to come together and be there for one another no matter what comes, a helping hand in doing things from moving furniture to just listening is what a loving family does without question, why do we do things like this without question? Because as Cindy’s Brother told me “We are Family”
I think that about says it all...and what would we do without Family?!
ReplyDeletewhy do we do things like this without question?
ReplyDeleteLove is the reason. Without it we are lost.
While the situation is horrible and one no person should have to endure, I think I would find it more comforting in the home environment, than in a hospital, or care facility.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hey Flora, Family is something we can't do without, you are so right my friend.
ReplyDeleteAmen Valerie, Love does keep us close and without it is the only time there is a question.
ReplyDeleteThank You Ms.A, Yes the comfort level is much better at home which is the reason we brought her here, it's too bad that anyone should be in this situation but questioning the Good Lord is not up to us, we can only make the best of the situations given us, Thank you for your kind words and prayers, your friendship means so much.
ReplyDeleteSometimes family isn't blood related, either. Sorry for what you are going through, Jimmy. We are here for you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right Bijoux, blood does not make you family all the time, our family includes all of you also.
ReplyDeleteThank You my Dear Friend
I've certainly been where you are with my Dad and my husband. It is so difficult for the loved ones. To be so helpless to the person dying. To try to stay calm and upbeat for every one else around you. To feel the guilt you feel for wishing it to end because you just can't take it anymore. Say no more Jimmy. I am thinking and praying for all of you.
ReplyDeleteHey Barb, It would be nice to just pick her up and sit her back on the couch and say everything is going to be OK, sometimes things just don't work that way though.
ReplyDeleteThanks Barb I appreciate ya more than you know.
I remember going through this exact same thing with my father. And if it wasn't for the support of my family and friends, I don't think I would have gotten through it.
ReplyDeleteAnd as Valerie so beautifully shared.....
LOVE.
Sending you MUCH love, prayer and energy, my friend.
X to you and Cindy!
Hey Ron, As Cindy's Mom once told me "This too will pass" and everything will be just fine, Love, Family, and Friends will get us through and her words will be true.
ReplyDeleteThanks Buddy
As much as you are able...give this one to God.
ReplyDeleteLosing someone you love is difficult. Sticking together as family is the key. We just went through this in the death of my brother. You'll find that people grieve differently. (and some push everyone away. -though I hope this will not be your experience.)
ReplyDeleteAmen MC, This one is lifted to Him
ReplyDeleteHey Suzi, Sticking together is key that is for sure, everyone handles grief in different ways and we are seeing so many different so far it is scary, watching someone you Love fade away is a feeling I can't describe, I just pray she can go peaceful as she doesn't deserve this in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteJimmy, my heart goes out to you and Cindy. Big hugs and positive thoughts. I wish you strength and comfort in each other.
