Family Without Regrets

“If you met my family you would understand” I saw this on a t-shirt at a truck stop in New Mexico and had to smile, it made me think of my family and the different personalities within our group.

All families are unique, we all have what most consider normal people, and also those that will never be, everything from preachers to drunks and some that may be both, law abiding citizens to thieves, and for the most part we are just people living our lives doing the best we can with what we have.

So never be ashamed of who you are, always look back at where you came from and be proud of what you have been through, because those experiences have made you who you are.

If you ever met my whole family you just may see exactly where I got all my mannerisms, and if you look around at yours, you just may see yourself.

What t-shirts, bumper stickers, or sayings have brought a smile to your face lately?

  1. There's a wide variety of personalities in my family, too! We have adults that act like kids, kids that act like adults, some are easy to love and some the devil would have a tough time dealing with.

  2. Hey Ms. A, That sure sounds like mine too, isn't it funny how similar most families actually are.

  4. Hah - in my family of three (I have older sons, too, but they left home a long time ago), I'm the communicator. "Talker," my husband says (and really, he probably means "chatterbox").

I keep telling my husband and son that if I were to die a sudden, early death, the only sounds in the house would come from the television set. My son and husband would communicate exclusively by leaving post-it notes for each other on the kitchen counter.

    1. Funny how different members of the family communicate, some too much and others not at all, I enjoy the chats myself but at times a post it note would work :^)

  5. As you know, I come from a totally crazy and dysfunctional family. Looking back on it now, it made me what I am today. What I am is HAPPY! Good post Jimmy...
