Coming to you from both Cindy's phone and the hospital. We had to bring Ray in for an emergency procedure a couple of days ago, he is doing well now and hopefully will get a meal today and go home tomorrow.
In the emergency room which was filled to capacity and in ICU, Miss. Cindy made sure that we wore a mask which was probably a good idea.
Do you wear a mask when you go to the hospitals or Doctors office?

I hope he's doing better. I don't always wear a mask (and I'm in the hospital often) but I do wash my hands before and afterwards and if I'm seeing more than one person, between visits.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't, but what a good idea. If you did that here, everyone would think you had typhoid and would avoid even walking next to you! Which, come to think of it, isn't such a bad thing during this flu season.
ReplyDeleteI do hope Cindy's father gets home soon with no further problems. I remember how my heart dropped into my stomach each time my dad had to go to Emerg; there was just me and I couldn't be there twenty-four hours a day and he needed so much help, being paralyzed on one side. And I always worried he would pick up something additional/unwanted in the hospital. All my best to Ray and to you, his dedicated family.
I do not, but I should, for my own protection and to not bring any germs to those whose defenses are already low. I think I will use one the next time I have to visit a hospital.
ReplyDeleteI haven't but it sounds like a good idea...of course, since our daughter grew up (debateable) and moved out we haven't been in any emergency rooms except to pick her and one of her kids up.
ReplyDeleteNope but probably should. Last hospital visit, all the healthcare workers were masked up. I have a friend with severe allergies who wears them in grocery stores. She said people really avoid her like she is a contagious one. That could be a plus for staying well these days.
ReplyDeleteI hope Ray is much better and home soon. I don't wear a mask, but I don't often go to a doctor or hospital either. I think it's about a year now since I last went to my doctor, I only go for new prescriptions for my asthma inhalers and the refills take me to the next year. Probably three years since I was at the hospital.
ReplyDeleteSending healing thoughts to Ray! Hope he comes home soon.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a hospital in six years and I can't remember ever wearing a face mask at a hospital or in a doctor's office. I would if I went this, in the middle of such a bad flu season. I wash my hands a LOT, and every time I get in my car from where ever I stop I use a disinfectant wipe. I do that year around.
I have never worn a mask, but rarely go to the hospital for anything. Wishing your FIL a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteI hope Ray is recovering well. It was probably a good idea to wear masks at the hospital, but I wouldn't have thought of it. Once back when I was tutoring, one of my teenaged students wore a mask to our session because he had a cold. Whatta nice guy!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been in a long time, sounds like a good idea
ReplyDeleteI hope Ray is feeling better now. You and Cindy take really good care of him.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you wore a mask, and if one was offered to me at the ER, I'd probably wear it. Last time I was there, they were only giving them to the flu-looking people.
I try to stay away from the sick, and turn my head and hold my breath if they get in my vicinity, then take a deep breath when I'm away from where I think their germs can carry. Yeah. I'm a weirdo. I never touch my face until I've scrubbed my hands with Germ-X after leaving the doctor or pharmacy or Walmart.
I never think to wear a mask but it seems like a good idea. I don't see others wearing one either, not even the medics. I should be careful if I ever go again because it's been many years since I even had a cold. Don't ask, I can only put it down to the cod liver oil capsule I've taken each day since late 1950's. Joe would get colds but never passed them on to me. How amazing is that?
ReplyDeleteSorry Jimmy, I missed that about about your FiL. Didn't pick up on the significance of the hospital visit. I do hope Ray is okay now. I think I need a good ducking!
DeleteWith all the flu episodes going on, it totally makes sense to protect ourselves and also other people by wearing masks. They're available as soon as you walk in to most military hospitals and clinics, as well as hand wash. Glad Ray is on the mend. Hugs...RO
ReplyDeleteI certainly wish I had a mask yesterday at the doctor's office. Today I am coming down with something. Hope it is just a cold. Hope your Ray is better soon.
ReplyDeleteWearing the mask is a great idea. Not only for them, but for you too. You want to get sick, then visit a rest home or hospital. You are most wise. And use the hand sanitizer often too.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ☺
I havnt been to a doctor or hospital lately but the mask are a great idea. I wish I had one at Walmart the other day. Luckily I didnt pick up anything in the air from all the snotty kids everywhere. I do make it a habit to use bacteral wipes on the buggy.
ReplyDeleteYou guys look great in those mask. Im sure there are some funny stories to go with them.
Lisa
I don't wear a mask but now with the flu spreading it's good idea.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone, for an update we brought Ray home about four this afternoon, everything is looking good so far, like you all know we just have to follow the doctors orders and take care of him as we have been all along. Thanks for all of your kind comments, we both love and appreciate them all.
ReplyDeleteCindy is such clever lady she always make best choices !
ReplyDeletebefore renovation while cleaning i have to wear mask to avoid dust ,it was brought by hubby and instructions were strict
now i don't need
until now i never wore mask in hospitals
hope Ray is feeling fine now
I hope your father-in-law continues to improve and all goes well. Good idea on the masks, especially with the horrible flu season this year.
