Going Home

The van is packed and we are planning to head back to California first thing in the morning, said our goodbyes to good friends and had supper with Bill and Nan, hung out with the kids for a while and have been told to wake them up before we leave tomorrow, it actually started snowing so a check of the weather will determine which direction we go, I think I know the answer already because the possibility of snow and driving through Flagstaff just don't mix.

We should be home by late Friday so I will check back in on Saturday, I look forward to a good trip with Cindy and our Trusty Sidekick Dixie, The trip here was good as we had a lot of emotions and good news mixed with the regular tensions that we all go through.

Our old neighborhood is now different, the house looks good and Little Cindy (the new owner) has it looking well taken care of, but it doesn't feel like home anymore there is nothing drawing us back toward it, heck even Dixie is not looking that direction when we cross the street in front of it, but I suppose that is what happens when you move on into the direction the Good Lord sends you, we still have good friends here that we love and miss but I am afraid this town is no longer home.

  1. But that you can return there, and still know you are heading home to California, that is the best of both worlds, I think.

  2. it is amazing that once you leave someplace it becomes a place from your past that you are attached to but no longer view as home. I think the good news is that when you get back to California you will really feel like you have arrived home. Please have safe travels!!

  4. I so know what you mean about going home and not having it feel the same way. Even after living in Florida for 20 years, it's just not the same when I go back. I still have wonderful memories of the place, but it's just not home any longer.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time with your family and that the wedding went well.

Have a safe journey, my friend!

Talk to ya when you get back.
